This year, DigiTec celebrated its 20th anniversary — and EU4Innovation East was proud to stand beside it as Innovation Partner, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable innovation, cross-border collaboration, and ecosystem development across Eastern Europe.

As one of the region’s most influential tech gatherings, DigiTec 2025 brought together a dynamic community of startups, investors, policymakers, and media in Yerevan. Organised by the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) with support from the Government of the Republic of Armenia and Yerevan Municipality, the event served as a powerful platform for dialogue, discovery, and deal-making.

EU4Innovation East joined as Innovation Partner and proudly sponsored the Startup Alley — fully funding the participation of 22 standout startups: 7 from Moldova and 15 from Armenia. These bold ventures showcased cutting-edge solutions across AI, healthtech, edtech, sustainability, and more — gaining visibility, forging valuable connections, and reflecting the solutions-driven spirit of Eastern European entrepreneurship.

On the second day of DigiTec, EU4Innovation East co-organised a high-level panel discussion on scaling research-based innovation. Moderated by Berge Ayvazian (Wireless 20/20), the session brought together thought leaders from Europe and Armenia to explore how academic research can be transformed into market-ready solutions. The discussion highlighted the role of public-private partnerships, the importance of ecosystem support, and the need for cross-border collaboration in driving deep-tech entrepreneurship.

EU4Innovation East also co-hosted a forward-looking panel on how Armenia can shape a globally resonant tech identity. The session, moderated by Forbes contributor Elizabeth MacBride, explored branding as a strategic tool for relevance, community-building, and long-term growth. The panel emphasized branding not just as image-making, but as a form of soft power — a dynamic alliance between public and private sectors that shapes how Armenia’s tech ecosystem is perceived and positioned globally.

Beyond the conference halls, EU4Innovation East — alongside a delegation of Moldovan startups and ecosystem leaders — explored Armenia’s thriving innovation landscape. From Engineering City and TUMO Labs to AI9 Startup Campus, Podcastle, and Picsart, each visit offered a unique lens into Armenia’s creative and collaborative tech spirit.
