Drawing on his experience within Moldova’s innovation ecosystem, including several years working at Tekwill (hub for ongoing growth, from co-working spaces, tech labs and community events), Dumitru launched Vector Academy as an online learning platform focused on concise, hands-on courses in marketing, business, management, data, and technology. From the start, the platform prioritized applied learning, flexible pacing, and mentorship— helping learners translate skills directly into professional opportunities rather than simply consuming content.
From a Small Team to a Scalable Education Ecosystem
Vector Academy began with a small, determined team and a clear belief that education must go beyond static video courses. One of the early strategic decisions was to place mentors at the center of the learning process, ensuring that theory is always connected to real-world application. “As AI-driven content became increasingly widespread, the startup deliberately shifted toward live courses, applied exercises, and “human-in-the-loop” learning models—an approach that now defines its value proposition”, as Dumitru states.
Accelerated Growth with EU4Innovation East Support
EU4Innovation East played a key role in Vector Academy’s transition from a local edtech initiative to an internationally oriented startup. Through participation in events such as Web Summit (Lisbon) and DigiTec (Yerevan), with support from EU4innovation East, the team gained essential exposure, validation, and access to new networks.

“Participating in Web Summit and DigiTec gave us visibility, helped us connect with over 20 international trainers, and validated our go-to-market strategy. These experiences confirmed that success comes from building ecosystems, not just tools,” Dumitru notes. Insights gained during Web Summit, in particular, confirmed that long-term success in edtech lies not only in AI tools, but in building strong ecosystems that connect companies, universities, and mentors.
As the founder of Vector Academy mentions, the international exposure also led to strategic partnership opportunities, including collaboration on soft skills assessment and interviewing tools—strengthening the startup’s corporate training offering.
Responding to Market Gaps with Applied Learning
Vector Academy was built in response to clear market gaps. On the organizational level, the team observed a slow and uneven adoption of AI and data analysis skills within companies. On the individual level, learners increasingly expressed fatigue with generic subscription-based courses that lacked relevance to their daily work.
In response, the platform doubled down on practical learning models. Courses are now designed to address real-time business challenges, often tailored to specific company needs. In many cases, organizations request short, targeted training interventions—two or three focused sessions addressing concrete internal bottlenecks.
Measurable Impact and Platform Evolution
Since engaging with EU4Innovation East, Vector Academy has expanded its B2B reach, connected with international consultants, and refined its product offering. Feedback and insights from EU4Innovation-supported events contributed to the platform’s evolution, prompting a shift away from static video content toward live mentorship and applied learning formats.
Today, Vector Academy increasingly works with companies seeking targeted training to address specific operational challenges. “Through short, focused learning interventions and professional coaching models, learners are able to apply new skills immediately, delivering clear value both for individuals and organizations,” affirms Dumitru.
Scaling from Moldova to International Markets
Between 2024 and 2025, Vector Academy reached several important milestones, including becoming an implementer of Moldova’s National Entrepreneurship Program and launching a large-scale Female Mentorship Program with 150 mentees. These achievements demonstrated the startup’s ability to manage complex educational ecosystems while maintaining quality and impact.

Looking ahead, Vector Academy is preparing for an international launch in early 2026, targeting English-speaking and high-growth markets. Building from Moldova’s multilingual talent base, supportive innovation environment, and EU-backed ecosystem support, the startup is positioning itself as a scalable edtech solution with regional and global potential.
