Web Summit once again demonstrated its impressive scale, bringing together 2,725 startups from 108 countries (with 40% women-led), alongside 1,857 investors and 869 speakers shaping global conversations on AI, sustainability, and the future of digital industries. In this dynamic environment, Moldova’s participation offered exceptional visibility, enabling local innovators to connect with international investors, potential partners, and high-level stakeholders.
A Dynamic Innovation Ecosystem on the Rise

Moldova’s innovation landscape has expanded significantly in recent years, driven by a growing community of founders, active support organizations, and a strengthening digital infrastructure. The country has seen increased investment and a surge in tech talent, supported by national programs, international donors, and public–private partnerships that encourage innovation, digitalization, and entrepreneurship.
EU4Innovation East is actively contributing to this momentum by supporting ecosystem development, cross-border cooperation, startup acceleration, and access to international markets. Participation in global events such as Web Summit forms an integral part of these efforts, helping Moldovan startups gain exposure, validate their products, and integrate into international innovation networks.
Showcasing Moldova at Web Summit
This year, ten Moldovan startups represented the country at Web Summit, demonstrating the ambition and creativity driving Moldova’s tech sector. With direct support from EU4Innovation East, five teams—ArgusAI, Eating AI, Vector Academy, Brizy, and gardy.me—presented their solutions in dedicated Startup Pods, attracting strong interest from global investors and industry leaders. Additional startups, including Fagura, Finergy Tech, Cardneto, DeepGuard, and City Farm, further underscored the diversity and maturity of the Moldovan tech scene.
The national stand—co-funded and supported by EU4Innovation East, together with Moldova Innovation Technology Park, USAID/UE-Moldova AEF, Innovate Moldova, GIZ Moldova, Invest Moldova Agency, and Startup Moldova—served as a central meeting point for showcasing Moldova’s tech potential. Throughout the event, visitors engaged with Moldovan founders, explored product demos, and learned firsthand about the country’s emergence as a regional innovation hub, supported by competitive advantages such as the 7% single tax offered through Moldova Innovation Technology Park.
A Strong Signal for Moldova’s Future in Tech
Across four days, Moldovan teams engaged in pitch sessions, strategic business meetings, and targeted networking, securing new partnerships and opportunities for expansion. Their participation reinforced Moldova’s reputation as an agile and fast-growing ecosystem capable of competing internationally.

EU4Innovation East is proud to support Moldova’s growing innovation sector and to contribute to the national stand at Web Summit 2025—helping bring the country’s talent, creativity, and technological potential to the global stage.
