Editor – English Language (remote)

Under the supervision of the Communication Manager and Communication Officer based in Chisinau (Moldova), the expert is responsible for professional editing of various communication materials in English.

The role requires a high degree of autonomy and interpersonal skills suitable for an international and multicultural environment.

Objectives and tasks

  1. Edit and proofread materials such as short press releases, website articles, newsletters, presentations and comprehensive reports.
  2. The editor will ensure that all content meets the highest editorial standards, including:
  • Comprehensive copyediting, proofreading, and filling in any gaps in information, restructuring, or rewriting sections as necessary.
  • Correct spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation while ensuring contextually appropriate language use.
  • Adherence to a consistent style and formatting guidelines throughout the documents.
  • Elimination of repetition, redundancies, and inconsistencies in the text.
  • Ensure compliance with the project’s and donors’ communication protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure inclusivity, avoiding language that could be offensive or exclusionary.

Expected deliverables 

Edited and proofread materials such as press releases, website articles, newsletters, presentations and comprehensive reports.

* The engagement will be task-based, with an expected workload defined based on the project’s needs and communication priorities.

Mission Timeframe

The expert will work on a task order basis and must provide the project with deliverables describing his involvement in the implementation of this service.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree in languages, journalism, philology, or a related field is required;
  • A Bachelor’s degree may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree, provided there is an additional two years of professional experience;
  • Native in English with excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in editing, writing, and proofreading, particularly in the context of international development, donor-funded projects, or media.
  • Experience in writing and editing materials on tech, startups and innovation will be an asset.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
